Toilet training

Maintain intimacy - strengthen bonds

It is very important that the children feel comfortable during this time, see the changing process as something natural and evaluate the interaction with the specialist staff positively in order to maintain and intensify trust in them. Around the second year of life, the baby changes from the changing table to the children's toilet.

Each child determines the time for this themselves and is not dictated by us. If the children express a desire to go to the toilet, they are accompanied by specialist staff so that they have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new terrain. This also creates a calm and as natural atmosphere as possible. We accompany the children to the toilet every time they express a wish, and we ask again and again throughout the day. We accompany the children in this process calmly and patiently, giving them loving understanding if it is difficult at the beginning.
We disinfect the changing mat, toilet and sink several times a day. When defecating, the staff changes with gloves and uses a changing mat during every changing process, which is changed daily or even after each changing.

An implementation in everyday pedagogical life looks like this:

• We change diapers regularly and reliably; the children can follow the daily routine when diaper changing time is

• If a child wets themselves, for example when washing their hands, they will of course be changed accordingly

• Each child has their own place on the shelf with familiar care products.

• Familiar play items can be taken onto the changing table

• Pleasant temperature thanks to heating rays
